A new study supporting the use of PRP shows that 84% of the treated people reported significantly less pain and elbow tenderness in Sarasota Florida & Tampa FL
Every day we read about big-name sports stars who receive non-surgical treatment in the form of PRP treatments. Last week Los Angeles Laker superstar Kobe Bryant received his annual injection, and his performance on the basketball court is certainly among the best in NBA history.
Sometimes an athlete who is above the average age of those he plays and competes with suffers an injury, and surgery might mean an end to their career. Such a story was recently published by the Connecticut Post, about a baseball player with an elbow injury who was sent down to the minor leagues to mend. For this player, PRP treatment may mean his professional career will go on:
It’s an injury that is often remedied by Tommy John surgery, which would have sidelined Mather for seven to 12 months. At the age of 32, he knew there was no guarantee that he could have returned for a 15th season.
However, that is not a decision Mather will have to make right now. He received a platelet-rich plasma injection in early July, and again finds himself on the active roster with the Bluefish.
“It was scary at first,” Mather said. “I thought it was going to be (Tommy John surgery). So I was pretty pleased that they had an alternative. That kind of took some weight off my shoulders. It’s still a little tentative just because I don’t know if this is going to stick, but so far it’s been good.” Full Story at CTPost.com

A new study supporting the use of PRP for the treatment of tennis elbow was presented at the 2013 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). It showed that 84% of the treated people reported significantly less pain and elbow tenderness. Cortisone was used for years and has recently been shown to be ineffective for tennis elbow. Greco Medical Group has been using Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) for tennis elbow for years with great success. Finally, we have a large multi-center placebo controlled trial that supports the use of PRP for this condition.

Greco Medical Group can honestly say we have been using PRP for the past 15 years, whether it was intra-operatively in orthopedic surgery or cardiothoracic surgery. Then 6 years ago, as part of a biotech company we developed the purified form of PRP that no one else is using called CRP (Cytokine Rich Plasma). We have published, lectured, and taught the benefits of Orthobiologics to physicians both nationally and internationally. Greco Medical Group has the experience and technology to help you heal yourself safely and naturally.
